Gran Canaria

Gran Canaria is probably the most visited island in the Canaries archipelago throughout, with lots of beaches of great beauty and comfortable hotels. Roque Nublo

Rock called Roque Nublo is best known symbol of the island. Is right in the center, with a height of 1813 meters above sea level. Seeing it, you'll understand why imeadiat named "Cloud Rock". If you climb to the plateau on top, you feel a current of fresh air, nice, very refreshing especially in summer months, when the warmest on Gran Canaria. Pico de las Nieves

The highest point on the island of Gran Canaria is the top of Pico de las Nieves, with a height of 1949 meters. Unlike other surrounding mountains, the Pico de las Nieves is a military base that was built for the needs of an asphalt right up to the top, where there is a small parking lot.

 

If you look north of the Pico de las Nieves, you will see in certain conditions such as clouds pass over the edge of the mountains, then descend to the south than in deep valleys. If in the south and north is clear clouds gather, the wind then it goes south, the landscape is truly impressive.

Arucas

The third largest island city with a population of about 30,000 inhabitants, is where the Canary produce rum, named after a settlement located in the past in these places. Therefore, many tourists choose their city as a destination especially to see local rum factory and taste of its products. At Arucas is the church St. John the Baptist, so massive in comparison with the surrounding narrow streets that only barely able to catch you in your camera viewfinder.

South Island

Maspalomas

 

Maspalomas is a place you will always meet on the first pages of the tourism guides on Gran Canaria. Therefore, the image of sand dunes moving from Maspalomas, a vast southern resort island, you probably sink in memory before you see with your own eyes. Because of the relative closeness to Africa and fighting the wind direction, the sand dunes were formed by depositing sand brought by the Sahara Desert. Because in the past, companies have taken over surfaces hotel building ever higher even at the edge of dunes, imposing piles of sand have become, since 1987, a protected natural area.

Reminiscent of the Sahara dunes are surrounded in the east of the hotel, following which begins another large resort - Playa del Inglés. In the central segment of the beach is officially reserved for nudists. The western end of Maspalomas resort is a beacon high, and behind - the most luxurious five star hotel in town. If you go inland from the beach, you get into a protected area, with forests of palms, which was built around a golf course.

Puerto de Mogán

 

Puerto de Mogán is a holiday resort with beautiful architecture, the streets that will remind you of Venice Italian, but more lively and a profusion of colorful flowers. Unlike other tourist cities on Gran Canaria, Puerto Mogán is small. However, it is a very pleasant place, especially for relaxing in restaurants împrejurumile main quay. Only a few meters from the harbor where fishing boats anchor is an artificial beach built, covered with sand.

Maspalomas Aqualand Aquapark

It is the largest aquatic amusement park in the Canary Islands and nearby coastal resort of Maspalomas. Thanks to sunny southern weather pleasant temperatures during the year, the park is open almost continuously, except for certain periods during the winter when the weather is very bad.
